The National Health Insurance House (CNAS) has issued a directive facilitating the validation and reimbursement of medical services, medications, and medical devices provided offline during May 2026, due to disruptions experienced in the Health Insurance Information Platform (PIAS).
According to the directive, healthcare service providers can submit their activities for reimbursement for the period from May 1 to May 31, 2026, even if these services were rendered offline due to the platform’s technical difficulties.
Details of the Directive
The directive covers both medical services under the social health insurance system and national curative programs.
It stipulates that data related to services provided in May can be uploaded to PIAS by the report submission deadline for that month, allowing health insurance funds to process reimbursements.
Temporary Suspension of Validation Rules Until Platform Restoration
In addition, CNAS has temporarily suspended the rule requiring medical services to be validated with a health card for the duration from May 1 to May 31, 2026, due to the platform’s operational issues.
This measure aims to prevent delays in payments to healthcare service providers and to ensure the continuous delivery of medical assistance to patients, amidst the technical challenges affecting the health insurance information system.
