James David Vance (photo source: Profimedia) has proven, through official statements made on behalf of the United States, to be a dishonest politician who has spread public disinformation against Romania. Although the first round of elections in Romania was annulled by the Constitutional Court based on financial transactions by the Russian government that favored Călin Georgescu—an external intervention prohibited by Romanian law—the new pro-Russia team at the White House has disregarded the law, replacing it with the “art of negotiation” with criminals.
Thus, a war criminal like Vladimir Putin (with an arrest warrant issued by the ICC) becomes a suitable negotiation partner for the criminal James David Vance, now Vice President of the United States.
What Has Vance Actually Done?
First, he publicly lied in an official U.S. statement, falsely claiming that the Romanian government had annulled the elections. However, it was not the government that annulled the elections but the constitutional court.
Then, he lied again in public—not just a simple lie, but an act of spreading false news and falsification—by falsely asserting that the elections were annulled because the outcome was undesirable. However, this was not the reason; rather, it was due to external financing and the fact that Georgescu failed to declare his campaign funding sources.
What Do Trump and Vance Want?
Trump (the first U.S. president found guilty of committing crimes by a court of law) and Vance want to remove Romania from NATO, but in a way that makes it seem self-inflicted—through its own vote. And in this, they have a Russian pawn: Georgescu. This way, they could put an end to tensions with Russia, and Romania would once again become what it was before 1989. This was, in fact, Trump’s so-called “peace plan.”
However, European Union law and Romania’s constitutional order disrupted this dirty game. The new clique, which has launched a real witch hunt against the LGBTQI+ community under the Christian flag, has nothing to do with Christianity, which means respect for others’ rights, respect for all people, civic respect, and acceptance of different sexual orientations.
What Crimes Has Vance Committed?
Vance’s actions constitute serious crimes both in Romania and in the United States. Depending on the concrete facts, they could fall under offenses such as:

Subverting the constitutional order – While the U.S. does not have an exact crime under this name, laws do exist that penalize attempts to overthrow the U.S. government or interfere with another state’s constitutional order by U.S. officials (18 U.S.C. § 2385 – Advocating overthrow of Government).

Obstruction of justice – Several laws prohibit influencing, intimidating, or corrupting the judiciary, even outside the U.S., if the perpetrator is an American citizen (18 U.S.C. § 1503, § 1512).

Supporting terrorism and war criminals – The Patriot Act and 18 U.S.C. § 2339A-B prohibit providing support to such individuals.
