Jonathan David netted a hat-trick as Canada secured their first World Cup win, edging closer to the knockout stages with a staggering 6-0 triumph over Qatar on Thursday.
In a chaotic match, Qatar was reduced to nine players following two red cards. P. Assim Madibo was sent off early in the second half after a tackle on Ismaël Koné, who was stretchered off due to a severe left leg injury. Earlier, Homan Ahmed had been dismissed in the first half for a challenge on Tajon Buchanan.
The goals came from Larin in the 16th minute, J. David in the 29th, 45+3rd, and 90+2nd minutes, N. Saliba in the 64th minute, and an own goal by Al Manai in the 75th minute.
