UPDATE: Petrișor Peiu Rejects Support for the Government
AUR’s Senate leader, u, firmly declined the possibility of the party voting to endorse the government led by Adrian Veștea. This statement came after colleague and deputy Mohammad Murad suggested that the party’s members might support the new Executive.
Peiu emphasized that AUR sees no reason to vote for a government in which it is not included and criticized the governance program proposed by the designated prime minister.
“Their governance program mirrors that of Bolojan and Tomac. There’s no mention of VAT reduction, profit tax reduction, or pension indexation—none of the issues that matter to us are addressed,” stated the AUR leader.
Regarding the action AUR deputies and senators plan to take during the confidence vote in Parliament, Peiu stated simply: “We will not vote. Or we may not even be present in the hall. One of the two.”
UPDATE: Mircea Abrudean: PNL Extraordinary Congress Is a Necessary Step
Senate President Mircea Abrudean supports the organization of an Extraordinary PNL Congress, considering the current political climate.
“In complex times, delaying decisions is unhelpful. On the contrary, responsibility is needed. Therefore, organizing an Extraordinary Congress for the PNL is a necessary step. The goal is for the party to swiftly clarify its direction and focus its efforts on Romania’s real challenges. Only in this way can we contribute to the country’s development and modernization,” Mircea Abrudean posted on Facebook, Thursday.
Initial Report
“Tomorrow, Thursday, in the early part of the day, we will submit the governance program and ministerial list to Parliament,” Adrian Veștea announced Wednesday evening.
