Igor Savić, a 25-year-old defensive midfielder standing at 1.95 meters tall, has joined CFR Cluj. He is a product of the HŠK Zrinjski Mostar academy and has played for clubs like NK GOŠK Gabela, FC Torpedo Moscow, and Zulte Waregem before returning to Zrinjski in 2024.
Savić arrives at CFR Cluj as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Zrinjski Mostar. Although Rapid București also showed interest, he ultimately chose to sign with the Cluj team.
During the 2025/2026 season, Savić proved to be a key player for the Bosnian champions, participating in 45 matches across all competitions. He contributed one goal and two assists during this successful period.
With Zrinjski, Savić reached the play-off stage for the UEFA Conference League round of 16, where they were eliminated by Crystal Palace FC, the eventual tournament winners.
Throughout his career, the defensive midfielder has won two league titles, two Bosnian-Herzegovinian Cups, and two Supercups with Zrinjski Mostar.
In 2022, he was transferred to Torpedo Moscow for approximately 400,000 euros. Currently, his market value is estimated at around 600,000 euros.
Savić has also made an appearance for the Bosnia and Herzegovina senior national team, having previously played for their youth national teams.
Last season, CFR Cluj finished in third place, and the team is set to compete in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers, starting from the second qualifying round at the end of July.
