A recent survey indicates that 50.7% of respondents would vote against dismissing President Nicușor Dan, while 44% support his removal. Additionally, 5.4% of participants remain undecided or chose not to answer.
When removing the undecided voters from the equation, the data reveals that 53.1% of Romanians would oppose the president’s dismissal, compared to 46.9% who would endorse it.
Support for the president’s removal is predominantly found among AUR voters (77%), individuals with primary education (63%), rural residents (55%), and TikTok users (59%).
Conversely, opposition to the dismissal is strongest among PNL and USR voters (both at 86%), PSD supporters (59%), individuals over 60 years old (59%), those with higher education (73%), as well as residents of Bucharest (68%) and other major cities (61%).
Commenting on a potential recall referendum for Nicușor Dan, INSCOP director Remus Ștefureac stated that such an action “would only serve to exacerbate the already significant political uncertainties, which are economically and socially costly.”
The poll was conducted from May 11 to May 14, 2026, surveying a sample of 1,100 individuals via telephone. The survey has a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error of ± 3%.
