US to End Maritime Blockade, Iran to Resume Strait of Hormuz Shipping – Iranian Source

The United States is set to end its maritime blockade, while Iran plans to restore shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, according to a memorandum draft reported by Iranian television and cited by N.

The document, negotiated between Iran and the United States, requires American military forces to withdraw from areas near Iran and lift the blockade on Iranian ports. In return, Iran has committed to restoring the volume of commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz to pre-war levels within a month, as stated in the document.

Iran will manage traffic through the strait in collaboration with Oman, including route planning, as reported by the Iranian state radio station IRIB. Military vessels are excluded from this agreement.
This information is particularly noteworthy because IRIB is operated by individuals with radical perspectives within the Iranian regime.

US Has Not Confirmed the Information

However, all sources indicate that the agreement has not been finalized and that Iran will only proceed if it receives solid guarantees. Negotiations are ongoing, and both parties may introduce further changes.

If a final agreement is reached within 60 days, the memorandum will be approved as a binding United Nations Security Council resolution, according to the cited sources. The US has not commented on this information.

The memorandum is just a preliminary step before future negotiations on challenging issues such as Iran’s nuclear program and international sanctions against the country. The discussions are being facilitated by diplomats from Pakistan.
